The MADSACK Mediengruppe is focused on the future potential for regional and local media. Today the group owns 18 daily newspapers including Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, Leipziger Volkszeitung and Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung, and more than 30 advertising papers. The titles are supplemented by a wide range of content designed for online and mobile use. Over 800,000 newspapers are sold daily, reaching nearly 2.5 million readers and 4.63 million unique users each month.

Founded in Hannover in 1893 as Hannoverscher Anzeiger A. Madsack & Co., the company has grown steadily to become a nationally active media group with some 4,000 employees and turnover of €669.4 million. It is also a successful producer of digital, film and television content. Its postal services transport letters and parcels reliably from businesses, institutions and private customers. And its full-service agencies and corporate publishing service providers offer customised B2C and B2B communications solutions.

Heise Medien stands for high-quality, independent journalism. Its portfolio includes two successful computer titles, c't and iX; Technology Review, a forward-looking technology magazine; and Telepolis, an award-winning online magazine. Its heise online website for people interested in IT is one of Germany’s most visited special-interest websites. heise Events targets a high-level professional audience with conferences, seminars and workshops.

Heise Medien operated as Heise Zeitschriften Verlag until April 2015, when the company decided to change its name because of the steady expansion of its portfolio of products and services, particularly in the online sector.
