The support association FAUST e.V. (a German acronym for ‘factory repurposing and neighbourhood culture’) was established in December 1991 as a result of a civic initiative with the aim of promoting neighbourhood culture, intercultural communication and social life in the neighbourhood by converting an abandoned factory site. The centre was created to act as a socio-cultural hub for the area.
