Gerald Scarfe: Big Heads

From Richard Nixon to Donald Trump: From 26 May to 12 August, the Museum Wilhelm Busch is showing the glaring caricatures of the British master.

Whether Kennedy, Obama, Merkel or Trump: Gerald Scarfe has no mercy when it comes to characterizing - and unmasking - politicians. Born in London in 1936, Scarfe established himself early on as a freelance cartoonist. Since 1966 he has been drawing political caricatures for the Daily Mail and Time Magazine, and a year later he began working with the Sunday Times, which continues to this day. The Museum Wilhelm Busch shows around 120 of his mostly large-format drawings: A political journey through time with merciless punch lines.
