The first exhibition to be presented in the Museum Schloss Herrenhausen focuses on three main areas. In the east wing the visitor has the chance to learn about the baroque state of the Royal House of Hanover and their sphere of influence at the time, together with leading personalities, among others, the great thinker and philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) and the Electress Sophie (1630-1714).
Like in a cabinet of wonder the visitor is witness to a display of life in the Royal Court as it was with examples of everyday culture. A third part of the exhibition is devoted to the development of palaces and gardens through the ages to the modern day.
