What is the Maschseefest?

The Maschseefest is the largest folk festival in Lower Saxony, located right in the heart of the city on the Maschsee. A vacation vibe right in the city, with a maritime flair in the heart of the city! The Maschseefest provides an international stage for your vacation. Over 19 days, visitors have the opportunity to embark on a culinary and artistic journey around the world.
Regional culinary experiences, open-air musical highlights, sporting activities on the Maschsee, and a wide variety of attractions for children and families all contribute to that vacation feeling.


When and for how long does the Maschseefest take place?

The next Maschseefest will take place from July 31 to August 18, 2024. The Maschseefest runs for a total of 19 days.


How long is the Maschseefest open?

The minimum operating hours for the booths are:
Monday through Thursday: 2:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Friday through Saturday: 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Different closing times apply to the booths at the Geibel.


Where does the Maschseefest take place?

The Maschsee Festival takes place around the Maschsee. There are many ways to get there.


Where can I park? Where can I park my bike?

Due to the limited parking availability, we advise against driving directly to the Maschsee. It is best to park at the spacious Schützenplatz (Bruchmeisterallee 1A, 30169 Hannover) near the Maschsee. Use of the parking lot costs €5 per day.
There are bicycle parking facilities around the Maschsee. In addition, there will be a central parking area for e-scooters in the western Planckstraße area.


Does the Maschseefest cost admission?

Admission to the Maschseefest is free, as is entry to the stands.


Who is exhibiting at the Maschseefest?

Can I reserve a table in advance?

If you would like to plan your visit to the festival in advance, you can reserve your personal place right by the water. Please contact the exhibitors directly.


Where can I find the program?

The Maschseefest program will be published at the end of June.


Is the Maschsee Festival also suitable for children?

There are program points at the Maschseefest just for the kids. At the HDI-Arena, between Seufzerallee and Karl-Thiede-Weg, young festival visitors will find great hands-on activities. The play and adventure world is open from Friday to Sunday and on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 19:00. There are also many other play opportunities at numerous stands.
Safety note: As this is a children's program, parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision of minors on the event grounds.


Is that Maschseefixed from the age of 18?

Under the Youth Protection Act, children and adolescents under the age of 16 are permitted to remain in restaurants until 10:00 p.m. if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Adolescents aged 16 and older may remain in restaurants until midnight without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages are permitted only for those 18 years of age and older.
