Here you will find information about the traffic plan and the road closures in the western part of Südstadt.
Arrival with the ÜSTRA
To significantly reduce traffic caused by people searching for parking in the western part of Südstadt, the western part of Südstadt will be closed during the Maschsee Festival every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The HVG and the City of Hanover have closely coordinated this measure with the Hanover Police Department.
This measure covers the following areas: south of Aegidientorplatz/Nord LB, between Hildesheimer Straße and Rudolf-von-Bennigsen-Ufer, up to Altenbekener Damm. Entry into the restricted area is now only permitted with a pass. The municipal administration will mail these permits to all vehicle owners in the neighborhood. At the same time, all business owners will be contacted individually and directly.
Visitors to the Maschsee Festival will be directed to the parking lot at Schützenplatz via a tightly coordinated traffic management system and close cooperation with the traffic management center. The seven permanently installed LED signs along the main thoroughfares in the southern part of downtown, which will go into operation this spring, will also be used for traffic management.
