Loccumer Hof

Information in English

Only a few bare remains of the walls remind visitors of the former farmyard of the important Cistercian monastery of Loccum. The Loccumer Hof, built in 1293 on Osterstrasse, rebuilt completely by abbot Georg Wilhelm Ebell in 1730 and once again partly by Georg Laves, was destroyed in World War II. During the time of abbot Wolter Molanus, the farmyard was known as a meeting place for scholars, also including Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
