Monestary Marienwerder

The monastery Marienwerder is one of five of the Calenberg monasteries and was built as an Augustinian monastery in the district marienwerder in the North-West of Hannover at the end of the 12th century.

It is one of the five Calenberg monasteries. Today, the monastery Marienwerder operates a nursing home.
The monastery church built around 1200 in the Romanesque style Basilica is the oldest church in Hanover.
Opening hours:Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00
Guided tours:the monastery are possible only by appointment
