È possibile raggiungere la regione dello Steinhuder Meer tramite le autostrade A2 e A7, nonché tramite le strade statali B6, B441, B442, B482, B215 e B214.

In autobus e in treno
Dalla stazione centrale di Hannover è possibile raggiungere le città di Neustadt am Rübenberge, Nienburg e Wunstorf. Da lì è poi possibile raggiungere in autobus tutte le altre località nei dintorni dello Steinhuder Meer.
