The Hanover economic region benefits greatly from its central location within the European transportation network. The A2 and A7 highways intersect here, forming the most important east-west and north-south road connections. The Hannover Central Bus Station (ZOB) is one of the most modern in Germany. Buses from all major long-distance bus lines and large tour operators stop here. All major European vacation destinations are directly accessible from Hannover Airport. The Mittelland Canal, Germany’s longest man-made waterway, connects Hannover with the continent’s largest seaports and inland ports.

Over 200 million passengers use public transport in the Greater Hannover Transport Association (GVH) every year. With its bus and light rail network, üstra is the most important mobility service provider in the GVH.
