Cookie management and consent management platform

Some of the pages on this website use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services.

Our advertising partner provides you with a Consent Management Platform (CMP). This CMP allows you to individually configure your consent to cookies and similar technologies. You can make these settings here: https://www.visit-hannover.com/

Our advertising partner obtains the technology required for this from Sourcepoint, Inc. This company is involved as a processor and the exchange of data with Sourcepoint is regulated by so-called standard contractual clauses.

Sourcepoint uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your choices regarding cookies and similar technologies. These are technically necessary storage methods without which it is not possible to save your selection permanently. The legal basis for the use of CMP is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

In principle, you also have the option of deactivating cookies directly in your browser. Please contact your browser manufacturer directly for information about this functionality.

  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL

Our website incorporates a multimedia application called "yumpu.com" from the company i-magazine AG ("i-mag") – Gewerbestrasse 3, 9444 Diepoldsau, CH (hereinafter: yumpu) – which allows you to access magazines such as "Sustainable Travel – Through the Deister," "Tipps und Termine," "Kultur for free," "Steinhuder Meer," "Pferderegion," "Der Deister erholen&erleben," etc.

  1. We use https://www.yumpu.com/ from i-magazine AG (“i-mag” – Gewerbestrasse 3, 9444 Diepoldsau, CH) on our website. Yumpu provides a digital platform for publishing magazines, brochures, or catalogs. Using Yumpu, the content of PDF files is displayed as a so-called flipbook and shown directly in the web browser without loading the PDF files.
Switzerland is recognized by the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR as a country with an adequate level of data protection. Further information on this is available here.
Yumpu uses strictly necessary cookies to ensure the basic functionality of the service. You can opt out of the use of these cookies at any time by adjusting your cookie settings accordingly. The procedure for doing so varies depending on the browser you are using. Browsers can be configured to reject certain types of cookies or specific cookies. The browser can also notify you when a cookie is sent. You can do this by selecting the settings in your web browser according to your cookie preferences. However, you may then need to manually adjust some settings every time you visit a website. This may result in some services and features not working properly.
  2. Yumpu uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This service is used in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the Yumpu service. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of the website—such as browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), hostname of the accessing computer (IP address), and time of the server request—is generally transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. Yumpu has also extended Google Analytics with the “anonymizeIP” code. This ensures that your IP address is masked, so that all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and truncated there.

Google Analytics opt-out link: You can prevent Google from tracking further visits to this website. Please note: Deleting cookies, using your browser’s incognito/private mode, or using a different browser will result in data being collected again. Disable Google Analytics.
  3. Log Files Yumpu automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files that your browser transmits automatically. We retain this data for up to one month, after which it is deleted. This includes:
    - Browser type and version
    - Operating system used
    - Referrer URL
    - Requested URL
    - Time of the server request
    - IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR on the basis of a legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of the website. The data is not disclosed or used for any other purpose.

6. analysis tools

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure and analyze the use of our online services based on a pseudonymous user identification number. This identification number does not contain any unique data, such as names or email addresses. It serves to assign analytical information to a device in order to determine which content users have accessed during one or more sessions, which search terms they used, whether they revisited the content, or how they interacted with our online service. Likewise, the time of use and its duration are stored, as well as the sources from which users were referred to our online offering and technical aspects of their devices and browsers.
In doing so, pseudonymous user profiles are created using information from the use of various devices, whereby cookies may be used. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses for EU users. However, Analytics provides rough geographic location data by deriving the following metadata from IP addresses: city (and the derived latitude and longitude of the city), continent, country, region, subcontinent (and ID-based equivalents). For EU data traffic, IP address data is used exclusively for this derivation of geolocation data before being immediately deleted. It is not logged, is not accessible, and is not used for any other purposes. When Google Analytics collects measurement data, all IP queries are performed on EU-based servers before the traffic is forwarded to Analytics servers for processing; Service provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); Website: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/; Security measures: IP masking (pseudonymization of the IP address); Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy; Data processing agreement: https://business.safety.google/adsprocessorterms/; Basis for transfers to third countries: Data Privacy Framework (DPF); Right to object (opt-out): Opt-out plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de, Settings for the display of advertisements: https://myadcenter.google.com/personalizationoff. The purpose of processing personal data is to compile statistics and create user categories. The statistics are used to track and document the use of our website. The user categories form the basis for the interest-based targeting of advertising materials and advertising measures. In order to market this website, it is essential to measure usage in order to ensure comparability with other market participants. Our legitimate interest arises from the economic usability of the findings resulting from the statistics and user categories and the market value of our website - also in direct comparison with third-party websites - which can be determined on the basis of the statistics.

In addition, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline, AGOF and IVW for the purposes of market research (AGOF, agma) and for statistical purposes (INFOnline, IVW). Furthermore, we have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data available to INFOnline for the further development and provision of interest-based advertising material.

Type of data

INFOnline GmbH collects the following data, which is personal data according to the EU GDPR:

  • IP address: On the Internet, every device requires a unique address, the so-called IP address, to transmit data. The at least temporary storage of the IP address is technically necessary due to the way the internet works. The IP addresses are shortened by 1 byte before any processing and only processed further in anonymized form. There is no storage or further processing of the unabridged IP addresses.
  • A randomly generated client identifier: Range processing uses either a third-party cookie, a first-party cookie, a local storage object or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognize computer systems. This identifier is unique for a browser as long as the cookie or local storage object is not deleted. Measurement of the data and subsequent assignment to the respective client identifier is therefore also possible if you access other websites that also use the INFOnline GmbH measurement procedure ("SZMnG"). The validity of the cookie is limited to a maximum of 1 year.

Use of the data

INFOnline GmbH's measurement method, which is used on this website, determines usage data. This is done in order to collect the performance values page impressions, visits and clients and to form further key figures from this (e.g. qualified clients). In addition, the measured data is used as follows:

  • A so-called geolocalization, i.e. the assignment of a website call to the location of the call, takes place exclusively on the basis of the anonymized IP address and only up to the geographical level of the federal states / regions. Under no circumstances can the geographical information obtained in this way be used to draw conclusions about the specific location of a user.
  • The usage data of a technical client (e.g. a browser on a device) is merged across websites and stored in a database. This information is used for the technical estimation of the socio-information age and gender and transferred to the AGOF service providers for further reach processing. As part of the AGOF study, socio-characteristics are technically estimated on the basis of a random sample, which can be assigned to the following categories: Age, gender, nationality, professional activity, marital status, general household information, household income, place of residence, Internet use, online interests, place of use, user type.

Storage period of the data at INFOnline GmbH

The full IP address is not stored by INFOnline GmbH. The shortened IP address is stored for a maximum of 60 days. The usage data in connection with the unique identifier is stored for a maximum of 6 months.

Forwarding of data by INFOnline GmbH

The IP address and the shortened IP address are not passed on. For the preparation of the AGOF study, data with client identifiers is passed on to the following AGOF service providers:

Social plugins

This website may use social plugins ("plugins") from Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"), Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Rd Menlo Park CA 94025, USA ("Instagram"), Twitter Inc. 1355 Market Street, Suite 900 San Francisco, CA 94103, USA ("Twitter"), Pinterest Europe Ltd, Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland and Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").

The social plug-ins are marked with the corresponding logo and the Google plug-in is also marked with "+1".

An embedded plugin will transmit certain basic data to the respective provider each time the website is accessed, regardless of whether a user interaction - such as a click on "like" - takes place. The data transfer is independent of whether a user account exists with the company offering the plugin or whether the user is logged into their account at the time the website is accessed. In this case, the basic data is the dynamic IP address and the current browser string. With the help of this data, user tracking and the creation of user profiles is possible.

Using the Facebook Like button as an example, it is easy to explain how these plugins work:

If the user is logged in to Facebook, all data sent via the Like button can be linked to the user profile. If the Like button is also clicked, the information that the user found the content appealing is also added to the profile.

The data of Facebook users who are not logged in and of people without a Facebook account are also transferred to Facebook and processed for tracking and profiling purposes.

For more information on the purpose and scope of data processing, as well as your options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the respective privacy policies of Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/policy.php, Instagram, https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388, Twitter, https://twitter.com/de/privacy, and Google, http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Use of YouTube in extended data protection mode

We use the provider YouTube to embed videos. The videos are embedded in extended data protection mode. YouTube uses cookies to collect information about visitors to its online content. YouTube uses these to collect video statistics, prevent fraud and improve user-friendliness, among other things. This also leads to a connection being established with the Google DoubleClick network. When you start the video, this could trigger further data processing operations. We have no influence on this. You can find more information about data protection at YouTube in their privacy policy at http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube

Whatsapp

On the mobile versions of some websites, you can share content with others via WhatsApp. When you use this feature, a WhatsApp message containing the selected content is sent from you to a recipient of your choice. In addition, the MADSACK Media Group uses the Nugg.ad system provided by nugg.ad GmbH, located at Tamara-Danz-Str. 1, 10243 Berlin.

Privacy policy of nugg.ad GmbH

For nugg.ad GmbH, the protection of all data is of the utmost importance. nugg.ad lives with and from data, but above all we live from the trust of our customers in the careful handling of their data. Our unshakeable principles therefore include uncompromising respect for the right to informational self-determination of every citizen.

nugg.ad is fully committed to data protection as regulated by law in Germany and Europe, as well as to perceived data protection. This is why we provide information here about how nugg.ad handles data and the importance of data for our technology.

1. what data do we store and process?

nugg.ad offers website operators a technology that makes it possible to deliver interest-based advertising. Interest-based advertising from nugg.ad is useful for advertisers because it increases the effectiveness of advertising. This can reduce the total number of ad placements and you as a user benefit from being shown a smaller amount of advertising, which is also more likely to match your areas of interest than a purely random placement of advertising.

For this purpose, nugg.ad uses rough information based on your Internet usage. The nugg.ad technology remembers the surfing behavior of Internet users by storing a cookie in the browser of your end device with a lifespan of 26 weeks: This means that the number of web visits in different subject areas is counted. nugg.ad stores aggregated information on usage behavior with a hashed ID in the nugg.ad system, i.e. it does not store the specific Internet addresses that you have called up, but nugg.ad stores the frequencies of use of different subject areas in a cookie on a website-related basis (see section 3 below). This rough information about your Internet use can be used by the nugg.ad technology across websites.

Sensitive topics such as religion, health or sexuality are not taken into account. In particular, nugg.ad never stores information about your name, address, e-mail or IP address. Thanks to the use of data protection-friendly technologies and extensive anonymization, we have no way of knowing exactly who the user is who is currently viewing the website. Directly personal data is not passed on to third parties, in particular authorities or companies.

Furthermore, nugg.ad conducts surveys on its customers' websites. These surveys are voluntary, are not remunerated and can be canceled at any time. The information collected there is stored in the nugg.ad system together with a hashed ID. We do not survey children under the age of fourteen. We will never ask you questions about your ethnic origin, your political opinions or your religious or philosophical beliefs, your trade union activities, your health or your sex life. We will also never classify your user behavior into these categories.

Special precautions are taken in the nugg.ad system to comply with the principle of data minimization. In particular, an anonymization service operated by an independent party ensures that no user IP addresses enter the nugg.ad system. Special technical and contractual precautions have been taken to ensure that the anonymization protection is not circumvented by nugg.ad employees.

2. target group targeting and campaign management

nugg.ad identifies advertising-relevant target groups based on sociodemographic characteristics and product interests. We process only the statistical patterns derived from the use of online advertising and editorial content.

So that you are not inundated with the same advertising material or even feel disturbed, we count how often an advertising material is shown to you in different campaigns. After a certain number of ad impressions, you will not be shown any further advertising material from the campaign in question.

nugg.ad itself does not deliver any advertising material, but transmits the target group information to ad servers or other platforms involved in the delivery of advertising material. This takes place either in real time through a direct connection to the respective platform or through time-delayed communication. In the first variant, no IDs are used. The second variant requires the one-off synchronization of IDs. Before the ID of another platform enters the nugg.ad system, this ID is completely pseudonymized individually by an independent third party so that nugg.ad cannot draw any conclusions about a specific person from this ID.

3. use of "cookies"

nugg.ad works with cookies. It goes without saying that we do not use spyware or adware, spam or viruses. Our cookies are stored in the browser of your end device (e.g. PC, laptop, smartphone, etc.) with a lifespan of 26 weeks. Like the ut cookie, our d cookie is used for target group analysis and contains the number of web visits in various subject areas. In the ci cookie, we store how often you have been shown an advertisement. The cookies only contain rough information about your internet usage.

We cannot directly link the information in the cookie to the user. In particular, we cannot use it to determine the user’s name, address, or other personally identifiable information. However, you can, of course, choose to block these cookies or simply delete them by adjusting the settings in your browser.

4. opt-in/opt-out function and topic monitor

If you are interested in being shown advertising on websites that match your areas of interest, you can give your consent (opt-in) for further topic-based analysis of your usage behavior. If you give your consent, this opt-in cookie will also be stored in the browser of your end device. The storage period is 1 year. If nugg.ad has already stored information in cookies previously placed in your device's browser, setting the opt-in cookie will have the following effect: Your consent extends the lifetime of the cookies already set by nugg.ad to a total of 1 year (calculated from the time these cookies are set). The information stored in the cookies before the opt-in will therefore be retained after your consent and deleted at the end of the lifetime of the cookies, i.e. after a maximum of 1 year.

You have the right to prevent the recording of measurement data by the nugg.ad system at any time by using the opt-out option. You can also revoke any consent you have already given at any time with effect for the future. An opt-out is also stored in a cookie in your browser's end device, has a lifespan of 10 years, is called "nuggstopp" and is set by "nuggad.net".

Please note that the opt-out is technically no longer recognizable for us if you delete the cookies in your browser.

You can declare your consent or objection online on the nugg.ad homepage or on the "My Topics Monitor" page. To do this, please click on the corresponding button. The "My Topics Monitor" information page allows you to see how nugg.ad has classified your surfing behavior. For this purpose, the aggregated frequencies of your usage behavior are read from the cookie in encrypted form and displayed in broad categories. Further information can be found on the "My Topics Monitor" page.

5. data security

All employees of nugg.ad AG who handle the above-mentioned data are bound to secrecy in accordance with §5 of the Federal Data Protection Act when they take up their duties. nugg.ad also uses technical and organizational security measures to protect data from manipulation, destruction or loss.

6. contact

If you have any questions regarding data protection and data security, please feel free to email us at privacy@nugg.ad at any time. You are also welcome to contact our Data Protection Officer, Christian Pfeiffer, directly (christian.pfeiffer@nugg.ad). As we continue to develop our services or implement new technologies, it may become necessary to amend this Privacy Policy. nugg.ad reserves the right to amend the Privacy Policy at any time with future effect. We recommend that you review the current Privacy Policy from time to time.
