Wood Market
Background information
As the name suggests, Holzmarkt used to be a timber market. Today, however, the street is known for the Leibnizhaus. The Leibnizhaus was originally a Renaissance townhouse in Hanover built in 1499, which was destroyed in 1943 during an air raid on Hanover in World War II. Between 1981 and 1983, a reconstructed building with a facade faithful to the original was erected at a different location.
Description of the work
A pixel-based interpretation of biblical motifs is intended to lend the façade a modern feel and breathe new life into it. Accompanied by a spoken text drawn from biblical passages, the viewer is invited to delve deeper into the façade.
