Hornemannweg comes to life with larger-than-life hand-painted illustrations of pelicans at the site of Hanover’s former ink factory.

Background information

In 1832, chemist Carl Hornemann, the son of a painter and manufacturer of artists' paints, founded an ink factory in Hanover. He is thus regarded as the founding father of the Pelikan Group.

Description of the work

This installation allows visitors to view various illustrations digitally. The pelicans were hand-painted with ink and brush and have been virtually placed on the street where the ink factory once stood.
