Located in Hannover's Südstadt district, the Eisfabrik Arts and Culture Center spans over 5,000 square meters. It houses two exhibition halls, a theater with two auditoriums, as well as artist studios, music practice rooms, and recording studios.

A center of the arts

If you are interested in art and culture, the Eisfabrik is the right place for you. Dance, theater, music and visual arts come together here in one place. Used simultaneously as a performance and presentation venue as well as a living and working space, the Eisfabrik is a center for the arts.

Art, theater & dance

Since 2008, the “Art in the White Hall” program has featured its own exhibition series, regularly showcasing artists from Hanover and the surrounding region in group shows as well as solo exhibitions. The “Commedia Futura” theater presents large-scale, dynamic productions in the so-called Central Hall and the Black Hall, both of which are also located on the grounds of the Eisfabrik. The venue also regularly hosts multimedia productions and dance theater performances. For its various performances, the Eisfabrik collaborates with artists from all over Germany as well as from abroad.

The origin

At the end of the 1970s, a group of artists were looking for free-standing studio spaces - and came across the site of today's Eisfabrik. The halls became exhibition and theater spaces. Music practice rooms, recording studios and living and working studios were added over time.
