A center of the arts
If you are interested in art and culture, the Eisfabrik is the right place for you. Dance, theater, music and visual arts come together here in one place. Used simultaneously as a performance and presentation venue as well as a living and working space, the Eisfabrik is a center for the arts.
Art, theater & dance
Under the label “Art in the White Hall,” a dedicated exhibition program has been in place since 2008, featuring regular group and solo exhibitions by artists from Hanover and the surrounding region. The “Commedia Futura” theater presents large-scale, dynamic productions in the so-called Central Hall and the Black Hall, both of which are also located on the Eisfabrik grounds. The theater also regularly stages multimedia productions and dance theater. The Eisfabrik collaborates with artists from all over Germany and abroad on these various performances.
The origin
At the end of the 1970s, a group of artists were looking for free-standing studio spaces - and came across the site of today's Eisfabrik. The halls became exhibition and theater spaces. Music practice rooms, recording studios and living and working studios were added over time.
