Located in the heart of downtown Hanover, the GOP offers variety entertainment 52 weeks a year.
The GOP from the outside
The GOP is located in the "Georgspalast", built between 1912 and 1913, and has been staging unique variety shows since 1992. International artists are at home here and take to the stage with shows from various genres ranging from acrobatics to magic and comedy.
The two-hour show program changes regularly every two months and delights visitors with the best entertainment at the highest level. The "Gondel" restaurant, which reopened in 2001, serves up culinary delights to round off the show.

In parallel with the first Hannover Messe in 1948, the new owner, Wilhelm Hirte, opened the GOP Varieté Theater and, later, the Gondel Bar in the "Georgspalast," both of which quickly became established. In the 1950s, world-renowned artists enchanted audiences at the GOP. Two years later, as television gained increasing prominence, the venue was temporarily closed.
