Cabaret & cabaret

Cultural Center Pavilion

The cultural center combines cabaret, comedy, theater, music and readings on several stages.

Exterior view of the pavilion

The Pavillon Cultural Center is a cultural institution of the city of Hannover and offers a vibrant venue just behind the main train station: it hosts cabaret, comedy, theater, music, and readings.

The cultural center was founded in 1977 by the citizens' initiative Raschplatz e.V. as a venue for the independent theater scene. In addition to productions by the Theaterwerkstatt, which operates out of the Pavillon cultural center, the program also features regular guest performances. Well-known artists from the worlds of cabaret and comedy, as well as playwrights, frequently take the stage here.

Music in the Pavilion

The concerts at the cultural center are dominated by world music. The MASALA Festival is based here. Among the more than 350 cultural events held here each year is the “Songbirds” series, which features performances by international female singers.
