Christmas Circus

International Circus Performances at the Schützenplatz

At the 2026 Hannover Christmas Circus, families can look forward to a varied program featuring international acrobatics, magic, and clowning from December 17, 2026, through January 3, 2027. The 8th Grand Prix of the Artists will feature award-winning performers from various countries. The large circus tent at Schützenplatz offers 1,300 numbered seats and, thanks to its design without interior poles, provides an unobstructed view of the ring.

A special feature this year is the collaboration with the Capital Circus of Budapest. A lifelike locomotive from the Hungarian circus's prop collection will be part of the production.

Acrobatics, Magic, and Clowning

Among the highlights is Chinese performer Li Dazhi, who stacks twelve chairs on top of each other to a height of twelve meters and performs spectacular balancing acts on top of them. The young roller-skating acrobats Skating Balkanski from Bulgaria present a high-speed performance, while Maria Terenteva whirls through the tent dome on aerial straps.

Jidinis Magic from France creates magical moments with elaborate grand illusions. Daniel Golla, together with his wife Anna, makes model airplanes fly through the circus tent. The Acrobatic Troupe of Dezhou City performs challenging umbrella balancing acts, and Angela McIlroy-Wagar wows the audience with aerial acrobatics in the ring.

Humor is also part of the program. The clowns Aga-Boom and Pepe Jardim provide entertainment with physical comedy and surprising ideas. The Japanese yo-yo artists Toy Toy Toy showcase their skills with fast-paced tricks. The program is rounded out by the juggling act of Elena Drogaleva and her Gentlemen, singer and host Sarah Laminger, and the dance troupe Liazeed.
