The sculpture by Bernhard Heiliger (b. 1915 in Stettin – d. 1995) incorporates abstract elements of technical symbolism. Its multi-layered formal references are most effectively revealed when viewed from different perspectives. Along with Hans Uhlmann and Karl Hartung, whose works are also represented in the urban space of Hanover, Heiliger is one of the most significant sculptors of the postwar period in Germany. “Deus ex machina” was the first sculpture conceptually placed as part of the “Sculpture Mile.” » Location: Leibnizufer/Goethestraße
