The bronze sculpture by Hermann Scheuernstuhl (b. 1894 in Pforzheim – d. 1982) was commissioned by the City of Hannover and references the historic Marstall and a former horse trough on the riverbank. The riverside promenade was constructed in 1956 using rubble from buildings destroyed during the war. Other works in Hannover (selection): the sculptures “Torchbearer” and “Fish with a Riding Cherub,” both dating from the Nazi era and located on the Maschsee. The works around the Maschsee are discussed on site. » Location: Am Hohen Ufer (near Roßmühle)
