János Nádasdy | Leine Clutter Clearance

János Nádasdy (born 1939 in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary) fished the materials for his art out of the Leine River: old bicycles, machines, appliances, porcelain tableware, bread machines, and much more. Over a period of ten years, the artist cleared the Leine River between Leineschloss and Marstallbrücke three times during the Old Town Festival. After each cleanup, he had his finds pressed into blocks and placed on a pedestal alongside the existing elements. He dedicated two of these site-specific installations to figures significant to his artistic vision: Kurt Schwitters and Karl-Jakob Hirsch. » Location: Am Hohen Ufer (near Pferdestraße)
