The steel sculptures by the artist couple Brigitte Denninghoff (born 1923 in Berlin) and Martin Matschinsky (born 1921 in Grötzingen) define the landscape of numerous cities and, thanks to their clearly recognizable material and formal characteristics, create a comprehensive aesthetic network. In their work, organic, plant-like processes are thematically juxtaposed with technoid design. “Genesis,” made of welded chromium-nickel steel tubes, was brought to the state capital as part of the exhibition “Stahl 1” (Galerie kö 24). The then-IG Chemie, the City of Hanover, and the State of Lower Saxony advocated for its preservation at the site. » Location: Königsworther Platz (near the IG BCE building)
