The two sculptures by Ulrike Enders (born in 1944 in Oberstdorf) were installed through the private initiative of local businesspeople. Located in the pedestrian zone, they are literally at eye level, inviting passersby to move freely between them and position themselves without hesitation. The work invites viewers to pause; the familiarity of its design and function creates an anchor point amid the bustling activity of the city center. Meanwhile, the sullen expressions on the figures’ faces reflect one’s own state of mind and, through exaggeration, break through it. Other works in Hanover (selection): “Three Chairs” at Galerie Luise; “Lindener Butjer” on Minister-Stüwe-Straße. » Location: Georgstraße/Große Packhofstraße
