Wolf Gloßner | Cross Tower

The sculpture by Wolf Gloßner (born 1946 in Velburg) was initially placed temporarily in front of an arts and crafts dealer’s shop at the dealer’s initiative. The city eventually purchased it with the support and at the initiative of the Sparkasse and with assistance from the Lower Saxony Lottery Foundation. At first glance, its unassuming size and form give it a quiet appearance, yet it reveals its full impact when viewed up close. Using his signature gate motif, the artist created an autonomous object with references to architectural history that appears emotionally charged, crouched, and mysterious. It invites viewers to position themselves, to find planes and directions. At the same time, its unusual height and clear vertical dynamics draw the eye upward. » Location: Karmarschstraße
