Studio Sonsu

Studio Sonsu is a gallery for contemporary printmaking located in Hannover-Linden-Mitte. Since its opening in April 2026, it has been exhibiting hand-printed originals by international artists on Pariser Platz. The techniques range from etching and lithography to screen printing and woodcut, as well as linocut and risograph. Each work is signed in pencil by the artist and limited to a small edition.

Studio Sonsu was founded by Sonja and Yanick Süttmann. During a 25-month journey from Canada to Argentina, the two discovered their passion for printmaking. Great Britain was particularly influential, where young artists work quite naturally with printmaking techniques that hardly anyone in Germany knows anymore. Upon their return, they founded the gallery with a growing program of international artists, primarily from Great Britain and the European mainland.

Sonja Süttmann, a trained architect, curates the collection and runs a framing workshop right in the gallery. The corner shop at Teichstraße 2 on Pariser Platz, with its large arched windows, feels more like a living room than a white cube. Visitors are welcome. The gallery’s goal: to bring printmaking back into the spotlight as the most accessible medium for original art and to show that real art doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
