With a mix of well-known arenas, modern sports facilities, and urban outdoor venues, Hannover proves itself to be a versatile host city offering ideal conditions for athletes and spectators alike.

Maschsee: The Maschsee is the sporting heart of Hannover. During the 2026 Finals, the German Canoe and Rowing Championships will be held on the Maschsee. This central lake combines sporting excitement, urban vibrancy, and recreational opportunities like no other venue.

New City Hall: On Human Rights Square and at the New City Hall, visitors can experience dynamic sports such as 3x3 basketball, breaking, archery, and BMX flatland. The impressive setting lends these disciplines a special appeal—a blend of tradition, tolerance, and precision.

Opernplatz: In front of Hanover’s majestic opera house, Opernplatz will host speed climbing, beach volleyball, and the pole vault.

Stadionbad: The Stadionbad is the venue for the German Sprint and Medley Championships, featuring races in the breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke disciplines. The modern facility offers first-class conditions for exciting competitions in a high-class setting.

Steinhuder Meer: Just outside Hanover, but no less spectacular: the Steinhuder Meer. Here, visitors can look forward to challenging competitions in triathlon, coastal rowing, sailing, and speed windsurfing. The lake’s vast expanse and proximity to nature create ideal conditions for world-class sports.

Swiss Life Hall: At the Swiss Life Hall, the spotlight is on weightlifting, jujitsu, judo, and karate. This historic sports arena provides the perfect setting for high-energy matches, precise techniques, and thrilling moments on the mats and platforms.

ZAG Arena: The modern ZAG Arena serves as the venue for artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline. Here, physical mastery meets expressive power—all set against an electrifying atmosphere and thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
