If possible, please use public transportation to get to the festival. We do not recommend driving directly to Maschsee. However, the Schützenplatz is available for parking.
Stress-free to a free parking space
NUNAV - Free navigation app
This free app will guide you directly to an available parking spot at the Maschseefest, helping you avoid traffic jams.
We strongly advise against driving directly to Maschsee, as experience has shown that parking at Maschsee and in the Südstadt district is extremely limited during the festival. So it’s best to leave your car at home and take public transportation!
Arthur-Menge-Ufer (from the Courtyard Hotel), Culemannstraße, Rudolf-von-Bennigsen-Ufer (up to Altenbekener Damm), and Willy-Brandt-Allee will be closed on Fridays and Saturdays starting around 8 p.m. To minimize disruption for residents of the western part of Südstadt on event days, the area between Maschsee and Hildesheimer Straße will be temporarily closed to non-residents. The closure applies on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Fridays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Parking on the Schützenplatz
Waterloo Street will be closed to motor vehicle traffic at the intersection with Hardenberg Street until October. Hardenberg Street is closed to traffic. The detour via Am Waterlooplatz and Am Schützenplatz is signposted. Schützenplatz, which serves as a parking lot for the Maschseefest, is accessible via the Herrenhäuser Gate (Viktoria-Luise-Weg/Am Schützenplatz) and the Schausteller Gate (Robert-Enke-Straße). These two access points replace the previous entrance via the Gilde Gate (Bruchmeisterallee). The closure is due to city drainage work.
A limited number of parking spaces are available here:
Schützenplatz, Hannover
Parking lot fee: 5 Euro
Arrival by car
If you still prefer to drive, it’s best to park outside the city and continue your journey by public transportation. There is no designated Park & Ride service for the Maschseefest, but there are several Park & Ride facilities in Hannover and the surrounding area.
For those traveling by car, the HVG is partnering with the free navigation app NUNAV for the first time this year. If you enter “Maschseefest” as your destination in NUNAV instead of an address, the app will guide you directly to an available parking spot, helping to avoid traffic jams.
