Women's night cab

Women don’t have to travel alone in the evening and at night. Many municipalities in the Region Hannover subsidize the so-called “Women’s Night Taxi.” This allows female Üstra/GVH customers in Garbsen, Hannover, Lehrte, Ronnenberg, Sehnde, and Gehrden to ride at a reduced fare.

Free service, subsidy from €5 to €7

The service is free of charge. You only need to pay the taxi fare. All female passengers, including those accompanied by children up to age 14 (up to age 16 in Gehrden), receive a subsidy of €5 per trip within the city limits of Hannover, and between €6 and €7 for trips in the surrounding area.

The regulations vary greatly from city to city.

City of Hannover

• Period:
  - All year round: 19:00 - 06:00
• Cost: The subsidy is 5 euros and is deducted directly from the fare when paying in the cab
• Start: all stops in Hannover (exceptions: Kröpcke, Hauptbahnhof, Aegidientorplatz, Steintor) or right outside your front door
• Target: Hannover city limits, to your front door or a stop of your choice (exceptions: Kröpcke, Central Station, Aegiedientorplatz, Steintor)
• Order: by phone through Hallo Taxi at 0511 3811 or with Üstra drivers; the fare is reduced by five euros only if the Women’s* Night Taxi is specifically requested

Garbsen

• Period: Daily from 7:00 p.m. until the end of Üstra service
• Cost: 7€
• Start: Garbsen and the Garbsen metropolitan area
• Target: Garbsen City Area
• Order: from Üstra drivers or by phone from the Taxi Association at 051 31 2222
• Waiting time: up to 30 minutes

Lehrte

• Period: All year round daily from 21:00 - 04:00 (except on 31.12.)
• Cost: Flat rate, but no more than €7
• Start:
  - Downtown Lehrte
  - Neighborhoods of Lehrte
• Destination:
  - City area
  - Neighborhoods of Lehrte
• Order: at the cab rank at the station or by telephone on 05132 3851, 05132 1717 and 051 32 1 515
• Waiting time: up to 30 minutes

Ronnenberg

• Period: Daily from 7:00 p.m. until the end of Üstra service
• Cost: City pays a subsidy of €6; the user pays the rest
• Start:
  – End points: Empelde and Wettbergen
  – S-Bahn stations: Weetzen, Ronnenberg, Empelde
• Target: Ronnenberg urban area
• Order: on the light rail from Üstra drivers or by phone from Hallo Taxi at 0511 3811 and 0511 2143.
• Attention: When placing your order, please specify that you are using the Ronnenberg Women’s Night Taxi. For trips from S-Bahn stations, a fee applies starting at the Hannover city limits.

Sehnde

• Dates:
  September 1 through April 30: 7:00 p
  .m. – 2:00 a.m. May 1 through August 31: 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
• Fares:
  - Sehnde city area: flat rate, but no more than €5
  - From Lehrte Station or the Anderten terminus: 50 percent of the regular fare

• Cost: City pays a subsidy of €7. The user pays the rest.
• Start

• Target: Gehrden urban area
• Order: On the light rail, ask an Üstra driver, or call Hallo Taxi at 0511 3811.
• Please note: When placing your order, please specify that it is for the Gehrden Women’s Night Taxi. The subsidy will only be provided if you do so.
  Ordering in advance reduces wait times, which can be up to 30 minutes.
• Target group: Girls and women as well as women accompanied by children up to the age of 16.
