The sun slowly disappears behind the mighty trunks of the baobabs on Afi Mountain; its last rays reflect off the waters of the Zambezi, over which boats glide leisurely. In the distance, timber wolves in the Canadian wilderness begin to howl, while seals in the Yukon Bay harbor basin swim leisurely through the water. At the Late-Zoo event at the adventure zoo, there’s a very special atmosphere in the air!
Starting now, the Hannover adventure zoo will be open until 10:00 p.m. every Thursday through July 30 as part of its “Late-Zoo” event. In addition to the zoo’s unique atmosphere, each Late-Zoo event features its own program in collaboration with the Jazz Club Hannover. On stage in Yukon Bay, a band—curated by the Jazz Club Hannover—will provide musical entertainment throughout the summer evening, creating a relaxed, jazzy atmosphere.
The series kicks off on Thursday, June 25, with the band Brazzo Brazzone performing a mix of jazz, Balkan, Latin, funk, and soul. On July 2, The Sanborn Project feat. Leonora Tomanoski will follow with jazz, funk, and soul. On July 9, the Elmar Braß / Stephan Abel Quartet will take the stage with jazz and blues.
The series continues on July 16 with Tudo Azul, whose repertoire blends Brazilian and Latin jazz. On July 23, Scarcella and Friends will perform jazz, funk, and soul, before The Ellingtones bring the Late-Zoo to a musical close on July 30 with jazz, pop, and funk.
Every evening also features a special animal-themed highlight, with exciting impromptu safaris and guided feeding sessions. Depending on the date, the program includes the polar bears in Yukon Bay, the hippos on the Zambezi, or the elephants in the Jungle Palace.
Admission to the Late-Zoo from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. costs 18.70 euros for adults. After-work tickets are available in the adventure zoo online shop. For ZooCard holders, admission is included,
