Since August 2014, the Hanover Chamber of Crafts and the University of Applied Sciences for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FHM) have been offering the tripartite degree program in Crafts Management (B.A.), which is aimed at high-achieving young people who want to pursue a career in the skilled trades. This tripartite program combines the advantages of vocational training and master craftsman certification with an academic degree. After four years, students who have earned a (specialized) high school diploma can graduate with a journeyman’s certificate, a master craftsman’s title, and a Bachelor of Arts in Craft Management. This program provides them with a concise and practical preparation for leadership roles in the skilled trades, thereby ensuring excellent future prospects. The Bachelor’s program in Craft Management is absolutely unique in northern Germany.
Skilled trades companies also benefit from the trial study program: they attract high-performing young people for training and secure the next generation of managers of tomorrow. They also improve their image by participating in a forward-looking educational program and increase their attractiveness as an employer.
