A stroll around the Marktkirche is a real treat. Here, the Old Town charms visitors with its half-timbered houses, elegant boutiques, galleries, and quaint pubs. The Old Town flea market on the banks of the Leine is a Saturday institution! Sunday shopping and late-night shopping allow you to compare products without rushing—an offering that is also extremely popular in the region’s surrounding towns.

The shopping streets in the city’s neighborhoods—such as Lister Meile, Limmer Straße, and Lindener Markt—offer a unique atmosphere, diverse dining options, and interesting shops. Outside the city limits, the Region Hannover beckons with attractive shopping opportunities. Wedemark, with its historic town centers, is an idyllic spot in the north. Towns like Laatzen and Pattensen in the south, or Lehrte and Burgdorf in the east, offer variety, quality, and charm. To the south, Barsinghausen beckons on the edge of the Deister; to the west, the pedestrian zones of Wunstorf and Neustadt an der Rheinburg—also thanks to their proximity to Lake Steinhuder Meer—are well worth a visit.
