STARTUP-IMPULS Startup Competition

The competition organized by hannoverimpuls and Sparkasse Hannover supports the entrepreneurial implementation of promising business ideas: Applications are now being accepted again. The application deadline is December 15, 2025.

The Startup-Impuls startup competition is once again offering prize money totaling more than 100,000 euros across four categories:

The “HOTTEST INNOVATION” award offers a prize of 25,000 euros primarily to technology-focused university spin-offs and innovative entrepreneurs who aim to transform existing markets with new technologies or disruptive ideas.

The “NEXT MITTELSTAND” award is aimed at founders whose business models have the potential to grow into established small and medium-sized enterprises. The focus is on a solid business model with sustainable growth, which can be relevant to both innovative industries and traditional sectors. The winner will receive prize money of 25,000 euros.

The “HIGHEST IMPACT” award category is aimed at founders who are tackling social or environmental challenges. Companies active in areas such as sustainability, social justice, or ethical business practices may find this category relevant; this includes both traditional social enterprises and innovative impact startups. The most compelling project will receive a prize of 25,000 euros.

The “FUTURE HEALTH” award category is aimed at founders and startups offering innovative solutions in the healthcare sector. This can range from medical technology to digital health and biotechnology—anything that improves people’s well-being and health. The first-place winner will receive prize money of 25,000 euros.

For the fifth time, Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) is offering a special marketing award. The company is seeking a particularly attractive product from among all entries that is already on the market or is about to be launched. HMTG is offering a marketing package worth 5,000 euros as the prize, which will be tailored to the winner’s specific needs.
