The International Neuroscience Institute Hannover (INI) is a clinic for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with nervous system disorders that opened in 1998. The center for brain research and the treatment of nervous system disorders, which cost 140 million marks to build, is considered one of the best-equipped specialized clinics in the world. More than 1,500 patients undergo surgery each year at the clinic, which is architecturally modeled after a brain—half of them come from abroad.
