Over 100 years of experience: Founded in 1903, HDI evolved from a pure-play liability insurer for the industrial sector into Talanx AG, an internationally active, publicly traded multi-brand group.

HDI provides insurance coverage for individual customers, businesses, and self-employed professionals. With industry-specific and comprehensive solutions, it offers a wide range of property insurance options to businesses in retail, services, and skilled trades, as well as to self-employed professionals.

In 1903, six employers’ liability insurance associations and 176 companies in the iron and steel industry founded an industry-specific insurance association called the “Liability Association of the German Iron and Steel Industry.” The range of insurance products was soon expanded. In 1936, HDI changed its name to “Liability Association of German Industry.” Today, HDI operates in 16 countries and employs over 3,000 people.
