INI

The INI - International Neuroscience Institute is a specialized clinic and research facility for diseases of the brain, spinal cord, spinal column, skeletal system and nerves.

International Neuroscience Institute (INI)

The International Neuroscience Institute Hannover (INI) is a clinic dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of the nervous system. This private neurosurgical clinic was founded in 1998, and the clinic building was officially opened as part of Expo 2000. The center for brain research and the treatment of nervous system disorders, which cost approximately 140 million marks at the time, is now considered one of the best-equipped specialized clinics in the world.

The Brain of Hannover

The INI operates specialized departments for neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, neurorehabilitation, orthopedics, anesthesiology, and general surgery. More than 1,500 patients undergo surgery at the clinic each year—half of whom come from abroad. Located in Medical Park Hannover, the center is visible from afar as an impressive structure, standing 38 meters tall with nine stories, and abstractly represents the contours of the human brain. The outdoor grounds consist of a small park with a pond, a fern garden, and Japanese ornamental cherry trees. The Hannover Medical School and the Fraunhofer Institute are located in the immediate vicinity.
