EDEKA Organic Selection
The company has existed in its current form since 1920, stretching from the Dutch border to the Polish border and covering Bremen, Lower Saxony, part of East Westphalia-Lippe, Saxony-Anhalt, Berlin, and Brandenburg. Two-thirds of the total 1,480 stores are owned by independent EDEKA merchants. The corporate group also includes several production facilities, including the bread and baked goods producer Schäfer’s, the meat and sausage producer Bauerngut, and the long-established fish processing company Hagenah in Hamburg.
