But that’s not all: innovative magazine formats like *Spiegel* and *Stern* were founded here; state-of-the-art TV broadcasting systems are based here; cutting-edge headphones and microphones are developed here; and Hannover boasts a vibrant theater scene. Germany’s only clown school and its largest opera house are also located in Hannover. The list goes on and on.

The Region Hannover has clearly always been a fertile ground for creativity. However, until now, it has not really been associated with these innovations and creative developments. Their economic significance for the region has also often been underestimated.

• 22,400 employees subject to social insurance contributions in 1,530 businesses (4.3% of total employment)
• Focus on the music industry: University of Music, Drama, and Media; key players such as the NDR Radio Philharmonic, Peppermint Park, and Sennheiser
• Numerous projects and events as part of the UNESCO City of Music
• Startup hubs: HALLE 96, featuring office space, workshops, and shared infrastructure; coworking spaces and the "Hafven" makerspace
• Network: kre|H|tiv Netzwerk e. V., the fastest-growing and largest industry network of its kind in Germany
