The online retailer Amazon takes advantage of Hannover’s strategic location with its modern sorting center in Garbsen and its distribution center in the Höver industrial park. As the world’s largest e-commerce company, Amazon offers an extensive selection of products, ranging from books, music, and videos to electronics, cosmetics, and much more.

Amazon’s first automated sorting center opened in 2018 and is located across from the A2 exit in Garbsen. The sorting center is equipped with innovative technology that automatically scans and sorts shipments without the need for manual steps. Approximately 300 employees work at the facility, which covers an area of about 30,000 m².

Since October 2020, Amazon has also been meeting growing customer demand with a distribution center in Hannover-Sehnde that spans approximately 9,700 square meters. More than 100 employees work there to sort and deliver orders to customers in the greater Hannover area. More than 200 drivers working for delivery partners are responsible for delivering the packages. Amazon Logistics offers local delivery partners the opportunity to grow while providing additional capacity and flexibility for the last mile.
