Research and develop production
IPH – Institute for Integrated Production, Hanover
Entrance to the IPH
The IPH conducts research and development in the field of manufacturing technology, provides consulting services to industrial companies, and trains the next generation of engineers.
The IPH was founded in 1988 as an offshoot of Leibniz University Hannover. To this day, it is run as a nonprofit limited liability company by three professors from the university.
IPH employees take an interdisciplinary approach to all aspects of a factory: from logistics, which connects all processes, to production automation and the coordination of machines, all the way to the manufacturing of individual components in process engineering.
The IPH conducts application-oriented research in the engineering sciences. About 30 research staff members work across disciplines on research projects focused on the core areas of process engineering, production automation, and logistics. The IPH also prioritizes research on XXL products—such as wind turbines, ships, or conveyor systems for the mining industry—as well as on digitalization and Industry 4.0, and additive manufacturing.
