Hannover – in the heart of Europe

The Hannover economic region benefits greatly from its central location within the European transportation network. The A2 and A7 highways intersect here, forming the most important east-west and north-south road connections. The Deutsche Bahn ICE network provides direct connections to all major German metropolitan areas.

The Hannover Central Bus Station (ZOB) is one of the most modern in Germany. Buses from all major long-distance bus lines and large tour operators stop here. All major European vacation destinations are directly accessible from Hannover Airport. The Mittellandkanal, Germany’s longest man-made waterway, connects Hannover with the continent’s largest seaports and inland ports.

More than 200 million passengers use public transportation each year within the Greater Hanover Transport Association (GVH). With its bus and light rail network, üstra is the leading mobility service provider in the GVH. The GVH network offers a high level of comfort—including for passengers with limited mobility—and seamlessly coordinated connections throughout the region.
