The City of Hanover’s Economic Development Agency serves as the interface between the business community and the City of Hanover’s administration. As a point of contact for businesses, the agency acts as a liaison between political decision-makers and external service providers with the goal of fostering the sustainable development of the local economy.

Key areas of focus include:

• Support for commercial construction projects, assistance with plans to establish new businesses or make changes to existing ones for Office and commercial space
• Strengthening the local economy

This specialized knowledge of the Hanover real estate market and its key players is not only used for the state capital’s own project developments but is also made available to interested companies. The economic development officials see themselves as facilitators and guides for businesses; they not only assist with questions regarding finding a location in Hanover but also broker municipal land and, if necessary, search for suitable alternative locations.

With the City of Hanover Award for Women Entrepreneurs, the city honors women who make a valuable contribution to Hanover’s economy. All female entrepreneurs who have been active in the city for at least three years are eligible to apply for the prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. The jury places particular emphasis on whether the company contributes to improving the image of the state capital of Hanover, adheres to sustainability principles, and promotes gender equality within the company

Hanover Science and Technology Park

With SCIENCE AREA 30X, the state capital is laying the groundwork for future-oriented technological development. On the 28-hectare site in the northwest of Hanover, the city offers commercial space within an attractive landscaped park and in close proximity to high-performing, internationally recognized research institutions. Forty renowned companies and research institutions have already established themselves here.
