Steinhude, here we come!
That sounds like a wonderful way to discover the many facets of the Steinhuder Meer! On this tour, you'll experience both the history and culture of the area and the natural beauty of the lake.
In the first part—a guided walk through the historic town center—visitors have the opportunity to learn more about Steinhude’s rich history of fishing and craftsmanship. A visit to the Fishermen’s and Weavers’ Museum is particularly interesting; there, you can explore the inner courtyard and learn a great deal about the way of life and work of Steinhude’s fishermen.
The subsequent boat tour on the FGS “Steinhude” then takes you out onto the water, where you can experience the Steinhuder Meer from a completely different perspective. The cruise takes you past picturesque shorelines and around Wilhelmstein Island, which is known for its fortifications and history. During the cruise, the captain shares fascinating facts about the region and its history. Refreshments are also provided—you can treat yourself to delicious food and drinks throughout the tour.
A perfect blend of nature, history, and relaxation!
