International fireworks competition

Experience unforgettable summer evenings full of magic and emotion: The 2027 International Fireworks Competition marks its 35th edition and is themed “Her Time To Shine – Women light the sky.” Over five evenings between May and September, for the first time ever, only teams composed entirely of female designers will compete, transforming the sky above the Herrenhäuser Gardens into sparkling works of art.

The Hannover Fireworks Competition Package combines a visit to the competition with an overnight stay, including breakfast, at a 3*** or 4**** hotel in the city center. A ticket to the 35th International Fireworks Competition is also included.

International Fireworks Competition at the Herrenhausen Gardens

For over three decades, the International Fireworks Competition has been drawing teams from all over the world to the Großer Garten. The best pyrotechnicians compete against one another, each presenting a roughly 25-minute choreographed display of light, music, and color.

The Great Garden in Herrenhausen is one of the most significant Baroque gardens in Europe. Its symmetrical design, water features, and tree-lined avenues provide the backdrop for the interplay of sound and light. The show is accompanied by classical music, to which the pyrotechnics are precisely synchronized.

Supporting program before the fireworks

A varied program of side events awaits you as early as this afternoon. Live music, street performers, and cabaret acts will provide entertainment, while food and beverage stands will offer a variety of culinary options.

So the experience begins long before the actual competition and lasts from the summer afternoon through the evening fireworks.
