From November 8, 2026, through January 10, 2027, the GOP Varieté Theater in Hanover will be transformed into the fantastical world of Michael Ende’s classic children’s book.

After their first adventure, Jim Button, Lukas, and Emma the locomotive set off once again on an exciting journey, because Jim wants to find out where he really comes from. Their search takes the friends across the sea, where they meet fantastical creatures, face dangerous adventures, and must confront the pirate gang known as “The Wild 13.”

An interactive musical for children ages four and up

With “Jim Button and the Wild 13,” this lovingly staged musical production by C² CONCERTS, in collaboration with UHPR | DAS PROMOTIONBÜRO, brings the next great adventure of Jim Button, Lukas the Engine Driver, and the faithful DamFehler! Link reference invalid.pflok Emma to the stage.

After their successful first adventure, the journey continues—and this time it takes them out to sea. Jim Button has grown older in the meantime and is grappling with an important question: Where does he actually come from? Together with Lukas and Emma, he sets out to uncover the mystery of his origins. Along the way, the three encounter extraordinary characters such as the mermaid Sursulapitschi and the Sea King, must navigate the dangerous Magnetic Rocks, and finally come face-to-face with the dreaded pirate gang “The Wild 13.”

This children's musical combines an exciting story with catchy melodies, humorous moments, and plenty of heart. The experience is made even more special by the audience's active participation: Together, the audience members create sounds like rain and the sound of the ocean, becoming part of the action on stage. This makes every performance a special and interactive experience for the whole family.
