The major highlight of the forest station is the 36-meter-high forest tower, which was completed in 2009.
A proud 36 meters high: the Wald high-rise
The walk-in tower is meant to represent an oak tree. So it’s actually a tree, complete with all its floors and inhabitants. On a journey of discovery through the different floors, you can get to know the oak’s many different inhabitants, from the roots to the treetop. Whether you ring the doorbells at the entrance and listen to their voices, discover secret messages in the mailbox, visit the Buchfink family in the treetop, or search for Else Eichenwickler’s hiding spot in the canopy, there’s something new to explore on every floor. From the canopy of this forest skyscraper, an impressive view of the entire city forest finally opens up.

The forest high-rise is also intended to add aspects of sustainability to the educational offerings of the forest station. Topics such as "The forest as the green lung of the city" or "Wood as a renewable resource" will be addressed, allowing the children to develop their own opinions and identify possible courses of action.
