In 1960, coal mining in the Bückeberge hills—in the area where the golf course stands today—came to an end. The Schaumburg Golf Club also attracts a large crowd during its popular Golf Discovery Days, which are open to anyone who registers in advance. These events help participants overcome their initial hesitation and make new connections within an open-minded golfing community—a step that has often led to taking up a new and wonderful leisure activity.
