In 1960, coal mining in the Bückeberge hills—in the area where the golf course stands today—came to an end. The Schaumburg Golf Club also attracts a large crowd at its popular Golf Discovery Days, which are open to anyone who registers. These events help participants overcome any initial hesitation and forge new connections within an open-armed golfing community—connections that have often led to people taking up this wonderful new hobby.
