Mountain Bike Trails in the Eilenriede in Hanover

Mountain bikers in action on the trail in the Eilenriede

Mountain bikers can get their fill right in the heart of Hanover at Eilenriede without having to travel far. The first official trail in Europe’s largest urban forest is located near the Rodelberg in Waldhausen, between the Tiefenriede Playground and Adolf-Ey-Straße. Spanning an area of 2,000 square meters, a pump track approximately 250 meters long and a dirt line with four jumps offer plenty of riding fun and thrilling jumps: the pump track’s numerous mounds, berms, and sweeping curves create the perfect flow. The jumps, ranging in height from 1 meter to 1.90 meters, require courage and athletic skill.

The new attraction is suitable for experienced mountain bikers as well as beginners and youngsters aged 10 and over. Younger children can put their biking skills to the test accompanied by their parents. Of course, a suitable bike and protective equipment are important.

This trail was built in the Eilenriede to prevent “off-trail” biking in the forest: tree roots suffer greatly from the pressure of the tires, and the trees are damaged in the long run and may even die.
