Discover the region around Steinhuder Meer by bike: Hardly any cyclist would pass up the chance to cycle all the way around the lake. This popular loop is a treat not only for the body, but also for all the senses and the mind. There are numerous scenic highlights along the way, such as the mystical landscapes of the lake meadows or the marshlands. A variety of themed bike routes ranging from ten to 60 kilometers round out the offerings for cyclists. A number of rental shops also provide bicycles at a low cost.
One of the most popular activities is a bike ride around Lake Steinhude. Enjoy the varied landscapes and interesting towns, or let your gaze wander across Lake Steinhude to the opposite shore or Wilhelmstein Island.

Moor route (44 km): On this day trip, discover the legendary landscape surrounding the Tote Moor, the largest moorland area within the Steinhuder Meer Nature Park. There are plenty of great places to stop for a bite to eat along the way.
Dinopark Münchhagen / Spinosaurus
Dino tour (30 km): The dinosaur tour takes you through exciting periods of history: from the dinosaurs to the early Middle Ages and the Romantic era. Giant dinosaurs lived in the region during the Cretaceous period 140 million years ago. On the dinosaur tour, cyclists and hikers can get up close and personal with the witnesses of the past at several adventure stations.
On this scenic route, explore the unique natural landscape of the Steinhuder Meer, the Rehburg Hills, wonderful viewpoints, and many attractions such as the Dinosaur Open-Air Museum in Münchehagen, Loccum Abbey, the royal spa facilities in Bad Rehburg, and the Floating Meadows in Winzlar. North Hanover Moor Route – Stage 4: Around Lake Steinhude (45 km):

For a long time, the moor was considered a mysterious and hostile place. It still seems mysterious today, but the knowledge of its ecological importance has been added. The Northern Hanover Moorland Route was developed to make the special value of these unique natural and landscape areas tangible.
The new themed bike trail stretches approximately 125 kilometers “From Moor to Moor,” connecting a total of seven different moorland areas in the northern part of the Hanover region. The route has been divided into four stages. The final stage focuses on the moorland landscapes surrounding Lake Steinhude.
