Parking spaces in downtown Hannover

There are around 3,500 parking spaces in the city center. Most of these are modern bicycle racks for conveniently connecting bicycles to the frame. The largest facilities are located on the edge of the pedestrian zone at the main railway station, at Steintor and at Opernplatz. Further parking spaces can be found in Schillerstraße, Marstall and Schmiedestraße.

In addition, two bike stations at the main train station (Fernroder Straße and Rundestraße) offer affordable and secure parking for 776 bikes right in the city center. The bike stations also offer a repair service and bike hire.

Bike+Ride in the Region Hannover

All regional rail stations in the Region Hannover are equipped with Bike+Ride facilities, offering a total of approximately 6,400 parking spaces. These facilities make it easier for you to combine cycling with public transport on your journeys throughout the Region Hannover.

The quantity and quality of the facilities are managed and continuously improved through the Region Hannover’s own B+R concept. Some of the parking spaces are located in 17 lockable bicycle garages. In Wunstorf, as in the state capital, you will find a bicycle parking garage with a service station. Interested parties can obtain keys from the respective municipalities upon presentation of a GVH pass and a deposit. Upon completion, the Region Hannover will hand over the P+R and B+R facilities to these municipalities.
