Cycling without age

Join us now: Volunteer rickshaw rides for seniors and people who can no longer pedal on their own.

Steffi Eichel, founder and certified cycling instructor at the Hannover location, during a volunteer rickshaw training session.

The nonprofit initiative “Radeln ohne Alter” organizes bike rickshaw outings for older and younger people with physical disabilities in various German states. Every rickshaw ride is a little adventure for the seniors and the pilots, during which shared memories are created and life stories are exchanged. It is enriching for both sides—and sometimes turns strangers into friends. Bridges are built between generations, memories are rekindled, laughter is shared, and neighborhoods are strengthened.

The anouvis e.V. Association

Due to age, illness, or other circumstances, many people are often no longer able to ride a bicycle on their own. The registered nonprofit organization anouvis e.V. provides a platform for volunteer work in the Hannover area. anouvis e.V. aims to support nursing homes and senior living facilities, as well as reach out to individuals.

If you’d like to give the gift of your time, become a guide with Radeln ohne Alter Hannover. Here you’ll meet nice people, become part of the RoA community, and—for free—do something for your own fitness! Before setting out on a “real tour,” you’ll receive training from the “Radfahrschule Hannover.” In two training sessions, you’ll practice with the rickshaw and gain the necessary riding confidence and skills.

Anyone who would like to join the initiative—whether as an individual or on behalf of their organization—is welcome to contact us at radelnohnealter@anouvis.de.
