Hiking Trails in the Hanover Region

The Hannover region offers a wide variety of hiking trails, ranging from short walks to longer routes through diverse landscapes. The trails wind through forests, along lakes, across marshes, and over gentle hills, allowing visitors to explore the vacation region up close.

Among the most well-known hiking areas is the Deister, with its forested ridges and scenic overlooks. Around the Steinhuder Meer, too, there are numerous trails along the water’s edge and through adjacent nature reserves. These are complemented by trails in the Eilenriede, one of Europe’s largest urban forests, as well as routes through parks and green spaces within Hanover.
